Designing and Building a Secure Prescription Signing Service

Background

Developed a greenfield prescription signing service with a focus on security and compliance. Led an engineering team while delivering frequent tech talks to foster innovation. Utilised advanced AWS services, including Nitro Enclaves, CloudHSM, and KMS, to safeguard sensitive healthcare data.

Challenge

Building a secure service with attestation-based encryption workflows while addressing technical limitations, such as the lack of random number generation in Nitro Enclaves and unsupported AWS SDK functionalities for attestation.

Solution

• Leveraged Nitro Enclaves for isolated secure computing.

• Used the Nitro Secure Module (NSM) for RSA key generation and attestation workflows.
